It’s a principal I’ve tried to live up to all my life, and I’ve always believed that knowledge was the key. Know why your instinctive reaction to a situation is to fear it, and learn about the situation so that you do not need to fear it.

In this situation however, the more I learn, the more the fear grows.

There are uncountable numbers of dragons in their realm, there are numerous structures like the one we found on Zheng-3. Distance and location does not correspond exactly between our space and theirs. Time flows differently in their space, faster or slower than ours, depending on factors that we haven’t identified

We still don’t know the reason behind their actions, if there even is a reason.

The space and time distortion will make it challenging, if not impossible, to further investigate the structures, the vast number makes confronting them beyond risky and the lack of understanding of motives makes negotiating difficult.

Last year, even facing the natural disaster looming over Brissid, I had ideas, plans for dealing with it. Now, I have nothing. I don’t know how we are to handle the threat the dragons pose, and I don’t know how we’re going to rescue those that they have captured.

And if we do somehow… it’s been one year for us. How long has it been for them? A day? A century?
