When Everything Changes

Chief Engineer’s Personal Log
Stardate 1040.8

Time. A fundamental aspect of the universe that we measure in such an arbitrary way, by the movement of a planet around a star not even my own. And yet, sometimes even in an arbitrary measurement scheme there are patterns and alignments.

25 years ago I stood on the cliffs near my parents’ home with a friend from school, son of one of my father’s colleagues, watching a meteor storm until the light of the morning sun washed them from the sky.

10 years ago I stood with him in the grove below the slopes of Mount Seleya.

1 year ago I stood on the bridge looking out at the wreckage of the Noether. Nothing has been the same since then.

What are we going to find at Brissid?

Picking up the pieces

The Trade Station is 5 light years from where it was taken, our Starbase is sending barely receivable distress calls, Brissid is apparently in chaos and something happened to Cmdr Mamani during the attack, leaving him catatonic.

If the dragons’ Supreme keeps his word, there will be no more attacks, why then does it seem like we failed?
